about

Duskdarter releases another snapshot of the Brisbane ambient-instrumental music community featuring ten finely crafted previously unreleased pieces. Feet Teeth kick off proceedings in full charge with duelling trumpet, pulsing synths and driving percussion with a little help from their friends Kahl Monticone, Luke McCallum and Andrew Tuttle. This is followed by Tuttle in solo mode, gently manipulating guitar melodies until they are swelling all around us before dispersing into a clean and straight melody amongst the floating remnants. Skerreks leaves us breathless once again with his delicate reverberating guitar lines building into an intricately layered drone. Timothy Fairless follows with a rich pulsing soundscape which gets sucked into a void only to come out the other end into a gentle droning mist. Thane of stone, now living in Melbourne, sends us a postcard of his times by the train lines. Invisible prism gives us a live one-take version of a song we'll likely hear on his next album. Guatemala lets loose, with the familiar archival audio and static shredded up in an emotional onslaught of noise. Endings returns with basslines and bird sounds. Built from Sticks is back at the piano with his signature flowing style providing us with an exclusive track taken from the recording sessions of his new album. Dempefka, in three-piece mode, closes the compilation with a breathtaking piece of violin, piano and gentle percussion.
